About

Kerry’s research currently focuses on contemporary discourses of racism in the UK, including media and political representations of asylum and migration, 'race' and Islam. More broadly, she is interested in cultural politics and how inequality and social conflict are articulated within British political culture, including questions surrounding national identity, security and human rights, multiculturalism, political protest and crime.  Her work engages with cultural theory, especially post-Marxism and poststructuralist approaches to discourse analysis.
