About
Louise is an ESRC funded graduate student in the school of social sciences. Previously she has worked as a research associate on a range of projects in the area of education and computer/internet use.
Her research explores women's use of the internet, how it fits into the everyday, and the production of gender in the detail of internet usage patterns. She's particularly interested in the problem of the internet being treated as disembodied, and investigates how the body is implicated in the kinds of uses the internet is put to, and what sort of thing it becomes.
She is interested in methods that highlight how multi-faceted internet use is, operating through texts, bodies, objects, actions and affects.
She is due to complete in early 2012.
