‘The Recommencement of Dialectical Materialism - Alain Badiou and Slavoj Zizek’
My thesis works towards reconstructing dialectical materialism as a critical political philosophy. Connecting Badiou's and Zizek's work with the impressive tradition of Marxist theory from Marx and Engels through to Althusser, I argue that their return marks an important recommencement of this philosophical and, ultimately, political tradition.
I am also co-director of the Cardiff University Ideology Research Group which runs an ideology reading group as well as regularly invites guests speakers.
